An airstrike in northern Kunduz province killed a top Taliban commander and his comrades, the Ministry of Defense said.
According to a statement released by Ministry of Defense, the security forces conducted the airstrike in the vicinity of the 2nd district of Kunduz city.
The statement further added that the airstrike killed Mullah Mansoor, one of the key commanders of Taliban in Kunduz.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Defense said the airstrike also killed seven comrades of Mullah Mansoor.
The defense ministry also added that the security forces conducted the airstrike as the Taliban militants were planning an attack.
