Ashraf Ghani issues decree to dismiss deputy chief executive Mohammad Mohaqiq

President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has issued a decree to dismiss Haji Mohammad Mohaqiq as the second deputy to the Chief Executive of the government of national unity.

The Administrative Office of the President in a statement said Mr. Mohaqiq has been dismissed as second deputy chief executive based on a presidential decree.

The statement further added that Mohaqiq has been dismissed as the Article#13 and Item#64 of the National Constitution of Afghanistan.

No further details have been given regarding the reasons surrounding the dismissal of Haji Mohammad Mohaqiq.

Haji Mohammad Mohaqiq is one of the influential figures of the Hazara ethnic group who is going to run for second vice president in Mohammad Haneef Atmar’s electoral ticket during the July 20th presidential elections.
